Gemini Moon is the brainchild project of Jimmy McG and Keith Varney. In the mid-2000s the two played together in the hard-rock band Play Hooky, releasing one album and playing a number of live shows in Colorado Springs, CO.
Several years later Jimmy moved to Portland, OR, but they were able to keep in touch. In 2022 Jimmy and Keith began talking about the possibility of recording a new album together, as a duo.
2023’s Straight Through the Wall is the first self-produced release from the band, now named Gemini Moon (GM). It’s good old-fashioned, hard-rock and roll made to get your foot tapping, head bobbing (or banging) and air-guitar rocking.
In short, it’s fun, rock music with heavy, driving rhythms, singable melodies and scorching leads.
